In my role as a Psychology > Social Services Manager, I have gained extensive experience in trauma-focused therapy and intervention techniques. I have had the opportunity to work with individuals who have experienced various forms of trauma, such as childhood abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, and combat-related trauma.
One of the primary approaches I have utilized is trauma-focused cognitive-behavioral therapy (TF-CBT). This evidence-based treatment involves helping individuals understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in relation to their traumatic experiences. Through TF-CBT, I have guided clients in developing coping skills to manage distressing emotions and thoughts associated with their traumatic memories. This therapy also focuses on addressing distorted beliefs and negative self-perceptions that often result from trauma.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is another intervention technique that I have incorporated into my practice.
